The existing MLS ecosystem in California is fractured — and does a great disservice to the brokers and agents who depend on it.

The It’s My Business Campaign is about righting the MLS ship — so that if a real estate professional can sell a property anywhere in the state, they can also see it in their local MLS.

It’s a big goal. But we believe that every licensed California broker, agent and real estate professional should have a single point of access to see real estate listing data, no matter where they live in the state. We want to get rid of the artificial borders and historical disputes that prevent you from seeing the data you need to do your job.

What’s more, we believe that you should only have to pay once to be a member of your MLS — and that your MLS should provide you with every listing you need to see, in a consolidated, error-free feed of data. One fee, one feed = better business for you.

Sure, that may sound revolutionary. Yet today’s MLSs are beset by problems of our own making, which are eminently solvable. There’s just no technical reason why data cannot be shared, and MLSs can’t consolidate. It’s people and politics — but with your help, we can level those hurdles so that you are better served by the MLSs you pay for.
